Hindustan Talks organised a training programme in Inter college of Rampur District in Uttar Pradesh from 22 February to 24 February.
The theme of this Programme was “ How to work for the welfare of people in Society”
170 girls of age group 14-27 years were trained in this programme, they learnt to file RTI and other issues like advocacy, Human Rights. We made them aware of government schemes going on.
We also trained them for rural development and how they can make their village into a Model village. It became a good learning experience for them. After learning to file RTI, few of them actually filed an RTI to know why their scholarship was not being provided on time. In few days issue regarding the scholarship was resolved.
Few women who were victims of domestic violence filed RTI and were given help but before that they were not even got heard by police . So learning to file an RTI instantly came to their help .
