Rekha had dropped out of 3 schools by the time she turned 6. Her father was an alcoholic and he passed in an accident . her mother works in a slum area , but can not pay for her schooling. When it became certain that no one was going to help, Rekha took matters in her own hands. She learned about learning center, a Hindustan talks foundation-supported project in Delhi, from other girls in the slum, and enrolled at the learning center. Here, she could learn for free. For the first time in her life, Rekha is staying at the same school for another year. A versatile student, rekha dreams of becoming a teacher. Neither of her parents has visited her at the learning center till now. However, being the eldest child in the family, she is thoughtfully building a safe future for herself and her family.
